What happens when you throw 3 top Russian models into one campaign? FEROCIOUSNESS multiplies by 13573285723979 !! Below's the latest ad campaign by PHI:
Natasha, Sasha and Anna in one campaign, my tacky wetdream came true! :D I do admit the styling looks a bit 'hot tranny mess'-y but the girls can totally WERQ no? :D
So I'm one of those cheap asses that refuse to pay for magazines and would rather spend 5 hours at bookstores finishing mags after mags instead. Which is fair enough in my case, considering I'm so poor and imported fashion magazines cost a fortune in Australia, plus I read an average of 6-10 fashion magazines every week. It gets to the point that most of the Border staff know my face these days lol :D. Anyhoo, with that philosophy in mind, I've been able to resist all the marketing tactics most magazines have been using to tempt people to subscribe, until I saw this on Vogue Australia the other day:
"The birthday celebrations have already started at Vogue Australia and we're giving away a collector's edition Barbie when you subcribe or extend your subscription. Celebrate Vogue Australia's 50th anniversary by subscribing and Shopgirl Barbie is yours. We think she looks like a cross between Daphne Guiness, Cruella de Ville in her youth and a Parisienne Chanel addict. In short, she's chic."
OH EM GEE i'm telling you. Barbie doll version of my godmother Daphne (or so I wish) in Chanel carrying a chi hua hua?! That's the combination of my 4 most favourite-est things in the world!
I'm one click away from subscribing. I need a guardian angel to tell me NO ....
My temperature was still rising from men's fashion week fever, when couture week started kicking in and totally knocked me over. I love couture I really do, although I have to admit i hate the fact the word 'haute couture' is being overused these days. bloody hell, every single designer down the street has started calling their collections 'couture' and 'haute', while their clothes were mass produced in i-dunno-where and the fall apart after 3 days.
Anyhoo, with the much-toned-down couture season that just passed, there were still pieces that really stood out ( in both "i-need-to-marry-russian-millionaires" and "i'm-not-so-sure-what-to-say" ways) in my opinion. Belows the list:
1. the amazing gowns:
2. the perfect suits:
3. the lady gaga / sasha fierce outfits:
4. the accessories (especially the shoes at valentino!):
5. The FIERCE POSE: it's a tie between Natasha and Sasha!
So after furtinure, collaborations with Qantas, GStar and 10352975070 other projects he's laid hands on, you think our very own aussie homie Marc Newson would be ready to retire from exhaustion, he decided to collaborate with BOUCHERON! Oh damn, the boy has taste! Saw this on the Newyorktimes:
Here's its description:
"The one-of-a-kind “Julia” necklace, which is being introduced at a couture-week party in Paris tomorrow evening, was inspired by Newson’s obsession with fractals — geometric shapes that can be subdivided into smaller versions of themselves, specifically the Julia Sets of fractals discovered by Gaston Julia in the early 1900s. “Fractals are fascinating, complex and rich,” Newson says, “and gemstones really lend themselves to exploiting their beauty.” The scientifically-spawned sparkler contains around 2,000 paved stones and took the company’s craftspeople 1,500 hours to realize using rapid-prototyping technology and a minimal three-prong setting, so the stones appear to float on the wearer’s throat. One thing that won’t be floating, however, is the price tag. “I wasn’t thinking luxury at all, but the technical rigorousness of the piece, as well as the sheer number of stones that went into it will probably make this one of the most expensive necklaces Boucheron’s ever made.” "
I'm speechless I'm telling you. I dont think I've seen anything better. Wonder how much that would cost considering it's the most expensive piece by BOUCHERON!? 2421765846587659364 dollars?
I'm not sure if this is really an embarrassing thing to say, but even at this age (ancient may i add) I'm still a sucker for all those music/video game gadgets. Dance dance revolution, sing star, guitar heroes, the drum thing, even that ridiculous game where you move both your feet and hands under the sensors like a crazy harajuku Japanese pop singer, I've mastered them all. I even taped myself doing one of those crazy Dance Dance Revolution routines, though I can guarantee you I looked nothing like this:
Anyhoo, I was just youtube-ing Little Boots today (who I'm super excited to see at this year's park life. for those of you who dont know who she is, go download 'new in town' cause it's the most awesome song ever!), and after the interview she pulled out this little magnetic-drawing-board lookalike thingy and started playing while singin one of her songs! Skip to halfway to see her play that toy thing.
A little googling and I found out that thing's called TENORI-ON, and it's like one of those mixer/DJ/keyboard thing that was invented by Yamaha. They even had a promo video for it:
IT"S AWESOME I"M TELLING YOU. All I want for XMAS is a hot toybo... i mean TENORI-ON! :P Not sure how I'm going to master all the crazy buttons:
but then again, I never thought I could do Dance dance revolution and I ended up WERQING it like no others :D.
